Annie and Nick talk trad-wifing, the luxury beauty slow-down, why we love Martha Stewart, and a new, expensive, and frightening Gen-x beauty brand in a Sephora near you.
You guys. Plot twist: I tried the Sarah Creal products with excitement… & the formulas are yikes imo. See the chalky & (not universally) dark tinted spf…
Nooooo! I was mentally halfway to Sephora with my tail between my legs ready to try that lip balm and tell everyone I was too judgmental and that the formulas are great. Looks like I just saved $45?
Well now you have to go even more… I like a good grip for lip products, so there could be a bias there. The eye cream will probably spark (no pun) joy just bc of the packaging.
I have been tempted by great (real!) reviews of the sarah creal concealer, but cannot justify the price when westman atelier’s is $10 cheaper and kulfi’s is maybe half the price. speaking of overpriced concealers, have you (or any listeners) tried VB’s touche éclat-style pen?
i love the VB pen but the price point is wild ($68 for 2mL of product???) it's similar in finish to the armani luminous silk concealer but with better lasting power. light coverage and slightly luminous finish. more coverage than touche eclat. great for "no makeup makeup" days but not worth the astronomical price tag unless ofc its in your budget!
Seconding Armani Luminous Silk concealer. Just bought it for the first time. Only complaint is that it pulls a little too pink; there doesn't seem to be a more green-neutral option that would work for me (Luminous Silk Foundation Shade 4 is perfect).
I tried the Sarah Creal face flex before it started to blow up, e.g. I wasn't influenced to purchase it (I was intrigued it was developed for the over 40 crowd), and it is really beautiful. FWIW, Westman Atelier is less expensive but also includes less product 6ml vs 9ml for Sarah Creal.
$58 for .3oz is interesting. In the photos they seem to recommend it as an all-over (similar to Kosas's creamy concealer), vs. just a spot concealer like Touche Eclat. The prices on this line might make it the highest color line in Sephora right now.
I use it all over and sometimes just as concealer depending on my plans. My skin care is pretty serious, so I don’t need to use a lot. It blends in like a dream. I have the kosas concealer too and it’s ok but the packaging is crap and it leaks all over my other products. The Sarah creal packaging is very luxurious. I listened to your episode after I commented earlier…your take on the “adults are talking” is funny. I heard Sarah on a podcast talking about the lipstick names and it was a cool take - they are all very pro-female, e.g. madam president, mansplain, invisible labor, pay equity etc. With that context I actually really dig the names

nooooo which did you try?!
Spf & eye cream. They were mutilated in Sephora, so that could be something.
Also on the subject of fragrance, Necessaire Olibanum scent is 👌🏾🤩. Perfect base layer for warm, vanilla note perfumes.
Order from Scentsplit all the time. The decants haven’t let me down once.
Is the packaging like... Etsy vibes? Or does it seem like a legit operation?
It feels very legit, but I don’t know if we are all doing a ‘bad thing’?
No episode this week?
I went back to relisten… but what is the name of the brand of the perfume that Annie was gifted? That originally had a seam on the bottle?
Bottega Veneta Déjà Minuit; they also sent the discovery set, which I have yet to make my way through. https://editorialist.com/p/bottega-veneta-deja-minuit-32504468/?pla=true&utm_source=google_ads&utm_campaign=PLA-BP-Performance_Max-PLA-Audience-Bottega_Veneta&visitstore=1&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA9IC6BhA3EiwAsbltOHz122LczDJv7KQCSDabLU98QdZg12Ol3yUQs2ZmvvTQwtMo4iQ_jhoCXHMQAvD_BwE

Well hopefully she isn’t a reader and I can call some in to try….
Ha! Plot twist!
